Mobile
, a customizable mobile calendaring and
data management application, was developed using the UMDP
methodology. TM Mobile is used as a launching pad or base application to
develop mobile applications that use the UMDP
methodology.
TM Mobile can be customized
in the following ways to satisfy client
needs:
1. Basic End-user Customizability:
End-users can add views to TM Mobile and custom design them using basic
Excel functionality. Using spreadsheet formulas, end-users can add
programming logic and interlink views to achieve desired
outcomes.
Custom views are created on
the Client Desktop and are seamlessly viewed on the mobile
device. Basic End-User Customizability is available to users through
the unmodified hosted TM Mobile application.
2. Remote Database Connectivity:
The end-user generated custom views can be
dynamically linked to remote databases. The TM Mobile query interface
allows end-users to readily connect to remote databases and construct
custom queries to access needed data.
Database-connected views
are created on the Client Desktop and are seamlessly viewed on the mobile
device. Basic Database connectivity is available to users through the
unmodified hosted TM Mobile application.
3. Custom
Application Development: TM Mobile is used as a base application
to customize to client specifications. If there is a need for a
calendaring module in the new application, TM Mobile can remain as a
visible component.
Otherwise, the calendaring component can be hidden in
the background while the new application is built. In this scenario, TM
Mobile serves as a development road map for rapidly building customized
mobile applications.
